Domenicos measurement Advice is for general guidance only please call if you have a question or problem.
Jackets - to establish a chest measurement either check the label of a existing and comfortable suit or Jacket.
Alternatively measure the chest at its fullest point normally under the arm pits and with the arms hanging to the side. Its best not to allow for any slackness as jackets look best fitting snugly. Note: If the waist measurement is larger than the chest measurement we recommend ordering a slightly longer fitting waistcoat.
Guide to establish the jacket length -

S - Short

XL - Extra long
Trousers - again to establish a waist measurement check the label of an existing and comfortable pair of trousers ( not jeans and try them on first ) Alternatively measure the waist approx 1" above the hip bone and over any under wear. If measuring a man he may hold the tummy in, so its best to ask him to relax, stand as he normally would and breath normally to get an accurate measurement. Remind him that you do want to order a garment that fits comfortably.
Sportsmen - if measuring an individual with large thighs such as rugby players we recommend ordering the next waist size up.
Striped trousers - such as for morning suits we recommend adding 1" to the waist to allow for the cut of the material.
Inside leg measurements - should be taken with the feet together, standing up straight. Place the tape on the outside of the leg starting at the natural waist line (hip bone) measuring down to the side of the heel, make a note of the measurement and deduct 10 inches from the total. Note: help may be required to measure correctly.Trousers should fall about 1" below the shoe lace line and have little crumple if measured correctly.
Kilts - waist measurement much the same as for trousers but the waist measurement should be about level with the navel.
length measurement Ask someone to measure from from the navel to the middle of the knee cap. Look straight ahead not at the person who is measuring to get an accurate measurement. Below is a guide to compare an inside leg with kilt length measurement -
